Ups, nu-mi vine sa cred ce rahat de carte am cumparat.
Nu am rezistat decit 150 de pagini si apoi am citit doar capitole care aveau titlu mai interesant. Sint sigur ca nu am ratat nimic.
4 Meet the weapons: rock, paper, scissors
The three weapons in NL HE tournaments are cards, chips and position.
In rock-paper-scissors, rock beats scissors, scissors beat paper, and paper beats rock.
In NL HE tournaments, the three weapons of cards, chips and position have this same kind of fixed power relationship:
- cards beat chips
- chips beat position
- position beat cards
5 Basic Position Strategy
If you get nothing else from this book, I hope you'll get a real understanding of the concept of position.
Reading the Board
You must be fast and accurate in reading the board. The first thing to look for is how the flop may have helped or hurt your own hand. If your cards are a pocket pair, for example, you need to know if you've flopped a set.
THE VERY SHORT STRATEGY 11-20 (!!!?) BIG BLINDS
Any position: raise or reraise all in with 77 to AA, AK, AQ, AJ, KQ, KJ, K10 and QJ.
PLAYER TYPES
...
Canasta Ladies
The stereotypical canasta lady looks like my Great Aunt Peggy back in the '50s with flamboyant dyed hair, dangling earrings, and lots of make-up built around some very red lipstick.
...
In tournaments, canasta ladies are even tighter players than cagey codgers (nr: o alta categorie). They play very few hands. They are not tricky, won't slow play, won't check raise. They don't bluff. You just don't mess with canasta ladies.
Amin.
